About Black Secure-Lock/P-Lock IEC320 C20 Locking to IEC320 C13 15A 250V

15 AMP 250V Locking C20 to C13 BLACK Power Cords according to IEC 60320. Cordage is 14awg-3c featuring a robust SJT jacket. UL, cUL Approved. P-Lock Power Cords can be used just like any other power cord, however, when mated with a matching Server Technology PDU, they securely lock into place reducing the chance of accidental power loss to equipment due to a loose connection. Standard jacket color is BLACK, however, RED and BLUE jackets can be used to identify Primary and Secondary power supplies. C20 C13 Power Cords are typically used in Data Centers to provide power from a PDU to a Server. Backward compatible, the P-Locks can be used with a non-locking outlets but locking will not be achieved

The IEC 60320 C13 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 15 Amps. The C13 mates with a C14 inlet, and is commonly used in a jumper cable scenario in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. Most people know the C13 as 'the thing that plugs into my computer' because it is the standard connector used to power most desktop computers. In a desktop computer application, the most common cable is the NEMA 5-15P to C13, which connects your standard North American wall outlet to a desktop computer.

The IEC 60320 C20 P-Lock is rated for 20A and 250V and is specially made for connecting to ServerTech and Raritan Locking PDUs. The Plug locks into place by hooking into the plug outlet with the two tabs on each side of the Plug. The plug can easily be removed by pushing down on both tabs of the plug.

Details about IEC 60320 (IEC 320) P-Lock (ServerTech) Power Cables

The 15A C20 to C13 P-Lock cable is available from stock in RED, BLUE, and BLACK. However, custom lengths and colors can be made. C20 C13 P-Lock cables are typically used with ServerTech PDU's, often referred to as "server tech power cords" or "server tech power cables".

The C20 Plug mates with the matching C19 outlet on the PDU.

The C13 Connector mates with the matching C14 inlet on the server, switch, device, etc

Typical Application for a C20 C13 P-Lock Power Cable

1. Server Technology PDU

PDU will typically be rack mounted, vertically, to the server rack. The C19 Outlet on the PDU shown in the photo will mate with the LOCKING P-Lock end of the cable (2)

2. P-Lock C20 Plug (Male)

The P-Lock male plug features two tabs on the outside, which allow the plug to securely lock (Secure lock) into place on the PDU.

3. C13 Connector (Female)

The IEC 60320 (IEC 320) C13 connector mates with a matching C14 inlet commonly found on servers, switches, routers, firewalls, computers, monitors, etc.

4. HPE Proliant Server

The device you are connecting this power cable to MUST have a C14 inlet in order for the C13 connector to probably mate.

Alternative to the P-Lock C20 C13

In cases where they is not sufficient stock on our C13 connector power cables, a C15 can be used in place of a C13 and will function the same as a C13. Please see our P-Lock C20 C15 power cable product line for stock and prices.
