APC AP8000 power cables
The V-Lock Power Cords can be used with the specific AP8000 Power Distribution unit offered by APC. These cables use the proprietary V-Lock locking mechanism on both the plug and connector ends. This simple feature will latch into place when inserted in the PDU.

We work with many partners to be able to quickly source all your V-Lock power cable needs, we offer these cables in both C14/C13 V-Lock and C20/C19 V-Lock configurations. Luckily there are many length and color options for your equipment to be color coded for redundancy or equipment type and reduce clutter in your data rack with accurate lengths.

The IEC 60320 C13 V-Lock compatible connector is designed to mate with proprietary IEC 60320 C14 Inlets located generally on rack mount equipment. The C13 is rated for 15 Amps and 250VAC, and is the most commonly found connector type around the world. The V-Lock mating system will latch into the inlet housing on equipment and can be disconnected by pressing in the yellow tab on the top down so that the recessed inlet flange is no longer latched.

About V-Lock power cords (locks both ends: APC AP8000, Panduit G5 outlets)
How it holds: Schurter's V-Lock cord-retention system. The plug and the connector each carry a yellow spring latch that clicks into the notch of a V-Lock outlet or inlet, a lock at both ends; Schurter rates the pull-out force at 200 N or more.
What it fits: V-Lock outlets, which APC fits to its AP8000-series Rack PDU 2G (APC's own locking cord kits are V-Lock) and Panduit to SmartZone G5, and V-Lock inlets on equipment whose maker chose the notched Schurter inlet. On any other outlet or inlet the cord seats but does not lock. The bright yellow latch tells it apart from a standard plug at a glance.
How to release: press the yellow release and withdraw; the cord seats and locks again on re-insertion.
