The facts

What it is
High-density PDUs put outlets on a pitch that a standard locking plug head cannot live with: the heads touch, and the release tabs of one plug disappear behind the next. P-Lite is the answer to that. The plug is a low-profile C14 whose body is recessed around the tab, so the tab is reachable from above even when every outlet is filled. The lock itself is the P-Lock latch: the tab clicks into the outlet's latch slot. Eaton sells the same idea for its G4 PDUs as P-Lock Lite.
What it fits
The same PDUs as P-Lock: P-Lock-ready outlets with the latch slots (Server Technology, Raritan, Vertiv / Geist, Eaton G4, GELU). P-Lite is made with a C14 plug only, so it is for C13 outlets; a C19 outlet takes a C20 P-Lock. The connector end is a standard C13 and does not lock.
Release
Press the tab on the plug head and pull. Because the head is recessed, one finger from above is enough, which is the whole point on a loaded PDU.
When to choose something else
- The PDU has room between outlets: ordinary P-Lock gives you the C20 option as well.
- The equipment end must lock: Dual-Lock.
- Plain outlets: A-Lock or S-Lock at the equipment, or Z-Lock+ at both ends.
